Returning home to Cornwall in 2005 after qualifying from Cardiff I worked as a VT in Falmouth and continue to work as an NHS associate in Wadebridge. I became a member of the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly local dental committee in 2010 and was elected as secretary in April 2014.
Being passionate about Cornwall and as a practitioner on the LDC I feel it is our responsibility to represent the needs and views of local dentists. It is important to have a strong voice to be heard when changes both locally and nationally are being talked about and to be able to engage in the process for the greater good of our profession. It is also important to have a committee to represent views of local dentists to professional organisations such as the GDC and CQC. Joining as a younger member of the committee is important to keep the committee relevant and moving forward in to the future successfully.
